The F1 in Schools Germany competition was founded with the goal of creating an exciting learning experience for school students and promoting their STEM skills and team abilities. It leverages the popularity and fascination of Formula 1 among young people. The competition offers students insight into product development, technology, and science, as well as careers in engineering.
The top teams from regional and state championships represent their states at the German Championship. The teams are evaluated in the following categories: vehicle speed, design, manufacturing, reaction time, business plan, and presentation.
There are two categories: Junior (2010 and younger) and Senior (2009 and older). The Senior category must also deliver an oral presentation in addition to the team pit display presentation.
